May 18-19 It’s So Hard to Say Good-Bye

Monday and Tuesday May 18 and 19: We will be finishing Saturn and the Ice Worlds. Please upload your answers to the questions to the appropriate Box folder with your name in the title of the document. Please read The Lives of Stars, take notes on it and upload them to the appropriate Box folder with your name in the title of the document. If we have time, I will be going over information in a powerpoint from the chapters The Size and Scale of the Universe and Finding Objects in the Night Sky. The accompanying questions are below. You will only HAVE to answer these questions if we have time to go over this information in class. However, if you would like to read the chapters and answer the questions since many of you express having a lot of free time, that would be terrific!

May 11-15 The Planets

Friday May 15: No assignments. Teacher planning day.

Wednesday and Thursday May 13-14: We will begin watching The Planets: Saturn and The Ice Worlds. Again, this is a movie that I own, so we will have to watch it during class time. Please be prepared to answer the questions found below as you watch. Please read the directions! Please also take notes on The Origin of the Universe, the chapter provided below. Then, upload them to the appropriate Box folder with your name in the title.

Monday and Tuesday May 11 and 12: We will finish watching the video on Mars and Jupiter. There are no additional questions beyond The Inner Planets for this part of the video. Please complete the lab at the beginning of the chapter The Size and Scale of the Universe and upload it to the appropriate Box folder with your name in the document title. I have included an answer sheet for your convenience as it is a wordy and at times confusing lab. Please use it.

We will have to watch this during our class time because it is a disk that I own. It is 180 minutes long so we will finish it on Wednesday. Please be prepared to answer the questions that follow as you watch. Read the directions! Please complete Weather Forecasting and upload it to the appropriate Box. Then, watch The Creation of the Universe found at https://topdocumentaryfilms.com/creation-universe/ and answer the questions found on the document below. Please be sure to read the directions. Upload your answers to the appropriate Box folder. Be sure to include your name in the document title when you save it.
